basedonart is an artist-run gallery based in Flingern, Düsseldorf…

The only gallery of its kind in Düsseldorf, basedonart specializes in exhibiting international contemporary and pre-modern Asian art, as well as antique ceramics. The goal of basedonart is to present exhibitions that illustrate artistic connections across time and culture. In this way, the gallery initiates a cross-cultural dialogue that simultaneously strengthens the individual artistic identities and positions on show. Through their curatorial work, artist-gallerists Dunja Evers and Thomas Mass offer a path of exploration that expands their personal creative practice while contributing to a larger transcultural narrative.
