The history of drawing is diverse and reflects the cultural, technological and artistic development of mankind. Generally understood only as the basis of art until the 15th century, drawing acquired the status of an autonomous work of art in the following centuries and is still used in a variety of ways by artists today. Although drawing is a fundamental aspect of the visual arts, a direct expression of an artist’s vision and recognized as an autonomous work of art, the medium is still often underrepresented.
With its exhibition series “99 drawings”, boa-basedonart aims to focus on this essential form of expression and shows a broad spectrum of works by various artists.
